Joining the Rockefeller team in November 2022, Shawna has nearly a decade of wealth management experience working at Merrill Lynch. Shawna’s primary role involves the creation and management of customized and comprehensive financial plans that are appropriate for her clients’ personal circumstances and risk tolerance. Shawna provides a disciplined approach to investment and retirement planning with a focus on estate planning strategies, legacy planning, federal and state tax efficiencies, and retirement income needs. She also holds the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation. She is committed to helping clients both preserve and grow their wealth over multiple generations.
As a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®), Shawna provides guidance to clients and their legal counsel regarding financial strategies pre-divorce, during the divorce process, and post-divorce. Specifically, Shawna is able to analyze the financial impact of settlement proposals to assist clients in selecting the best financial option during the divorce process. Post-divorce, Shawna helps clients maximize their financial independence through financial education and budgeting, comprehensive financial planning, strategic investing, and liquidity management.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Shawna graduated from the University of Texas where she majored in Economics. She is an avid golfer having qualified for two USGA Women’s Mid-Amateur Championships and her husband, Jason, is a golf professional in The Woodlands, Texas. In addition to golf, Shawna’s hobbies include dressage and cross-country equestrian sports, snow skiing, and culinary arts.
Residing in The Woodlands, Shawna and Jason have two children. One of her children was born with a rare genetic condition called Sotos Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Their unique needs motivated Shawna to join the Family Advisory Council for Texas Children’s Hospital where she shares her passion for financial planning with the families and caretakers of other special needs children.
