Rone Reed, CPWA®, CEPA

As a founding member of Capital Crest Partners, Rone Reed holds a firm belief in the paramount importance of family. In his role as a Private Advisor and Managing Director at Rockefeller Global Family Office, he collaborates with his colleagues to “prepare families for wealth and prepare wealth for families.” This involves not only sustaining and expanding families’ financial capital but also empowering them to cultivate and harness diverse dimensions of their family capital, encompassing human, legacy, structural, impact, and spiritual capital.

Before joining Rockefeller, Rone’s professional journey included roles as a Private Client Advisor at U.S. Trust and as a Principal at Bernstein Global Wealth Management. His entrance into the wealth management sector followed a successful tenure at GE Capital, where he led a professional services business. Prior to his corporate experience, Rone dedicated eight years to the U.S. Army, ultimately serving as a Special Forces Officer (Green Beret) and Detachment Commander within the 3rd Special Forces Group. Additionally, he is an alumnus of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and holds a wealth management certification from The Wharton School.

Rone was selected for the Leadership Council of the Ultra High Net Worth Institute, an esteemed assembly of wealth advisors possessing cross-disciplinary knowledge and technical expertise to address the intricate needs of affluent families. As a Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA®) and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), he brings a high level of professional accreditation to his role. Furthermore, Rone is a proud member of the Institute for Family Governance and the Purposeful Planning Institute.

Rone has actively supported various faith-based and special operations-oriented organizations, holding board positions with notable entities such as the Green Beret Foundation, Boy Scouts of America – Mecklenburg Council, and the Association for Corporate Growth. Currently residing in Charlotte, N.C., with his wife January and two children, Rone finds enjoyment in the outdoors, with a particular passion for fly-fishing during his leisure time.
