John Embleton is a Managing Director and Private Advisor at Hermanson Embleton Wealth Partners of Rockefeller Capital Management. In 2020, John completed his 30th year in the financial services industry. During the last three decades, John has developed a great enthusiasm for helping high-net-worth families build, grow and preserve financial wealth through advanced planning, portfolio management and generational wealth advisory.
Over his career, John spent eighteen years at Morgan Stanley and an additional ten years a Merrill Lynch. In 2019 John moved his practice to Rockefeller Capital Management seeking greater access for his clients for bespoke customer service, unique additional investment opportunities in the alternatives space along with advanced tools for estate and financial planning. In 2021 John teamed up with his fellow advisor from his Morgan Stanley days – Eric Hermanson. Combined, John and his team have deep experience providing specialized advisory for client liquidity events such as a business sale or retirement and further assist with investment management and family office services.
John has been a member of the New York Stock Exchange Hearing Board since 1998 and holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designation, awarded by the Investments and Wealth Institute. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, and is a member of BENS – Business Executives for National Security. John has been an active leader in the Atlanta Scouting community for the last fifteen years. He has served as a Cubmaster and Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America and most recently Scoutmaster for the new Scouts BSA program for girls and is a board member of the Atlanta Area Council. For his years of service to scouting John was presented the 2022 Silver Beaver award. John loves the outdoors and enjoys sporting clays, fishing and is a private pilot.
