Eric Heaton is Managing Director and Head of Finance, Risk Management and Strategy for Rockefeller Capital Management. In his role, he is responsible for leading the Finance, Risk and Strategic Client Solutions teams for the firm. In addition, he advises President & CEO Gregory Fleming on all strategic objectives, including growth plans, while working with leaders at Rockefeller Global Family Office on expanding product offerings across credit, banking, insurance, annuities, and retirement; with leaders in Strategic Advisory on accelerating growth in that business; and with the Head of Enterprise Coverage in developing key enterprise-wide client relationships.
Mr. Heaton brings more than 30 years of deep experience in leadership positions at some of the industry’s preeminent firms. Before joining Rockefeller, Mr. Heaton served for 10 years as President of U.S. Banks at Morgan Stanley, where he led banking and lending products for both the wealth management and institutional securities divisions. In his role, he oversaw two OCC-regulated banks with approximately $400 billion in assets. He also oversaw the firm’s Community Development Finance Group, responsible for meeting CRA obligations.
Prior to Morgan Stanley, Mr. Heaton was Head of the America’s Financial Institutions Group at Deutsche Bank, managing an investment banking team covering all subsectors of the financial services industry. Mr. Heaton began his career in 1989 at Merrill Lynch, where over two decades he held a series of senior leadership roles, including Global Treasurer, Head of Global Strategy and Business Development, and Co-Head of the America’s Financial Institutions Group.
Mr. Heaton holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Dartmouth College.
